Strategic Planning Overview
![]() |
Strategic planning is one of the pillars of long-term organizational success and viability. A strategic plan highlights key opportunities and challenges and helps an organization focus its energy and resources on the most critical business priorities. In these turbulent times, when everyone is expected to do more with less, no one can afford to ignore strategic planning. |
While stressing the importance of strategy may be stating the obvious, some aspects of strategic planning are not so apparent. For example, strategy is as much a concern at the functional and business unit level as it is at the enterprise level. Also, because today's business environment is so volatile, a strategic plan has a relatively short "shelf life", and thus needs to be re-examined on a regular basis.
Executive Alliance has considerable experience helping senior managers address the following strategic business issues:
- Defining clear linkages between the overall business strategy and functional/business unit goals and objectives.
- Ensuring that a function/business unit is meeting internal customer expectations by delivering the appropriate types and levels of service and providing maximum value-for-cost.
