
Richard Lawler
Richard Lawler is a Principal with Executive Alliance and has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of Human Resources and Information Technology.
Mr. Lawler has been with Executive Alliance since 1996 and he has worked for organizations in manufacturing, financial services, pharmaceuticals, state government, education, and the service sector. During this time he has helped clients to:
- Develop HR information technology strategies that link HR systems to the company's goals and objectives
- Perform vendor selections for systems and outsourcing services
- Perform organizational assessments for Information Technology departments
- Manage the implementation of HR and specialty applications
- Develop business cases for the investment in technology and infrastructure
- Re-design HR business processes, working with organizations through the practical, political and legal implications of how they do business
Before joining Executive Alliance, Mr. Lawler was the Manager of Corporate Systems for Harcourt General, an operating company with core businesses in publishing, specialty retail and professional services. In this capacity he was responsible for establishing an Information Systems function at the corporate offices. While at Harcourt General, Mr. Lawler had the opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team to implement several client server applications. He also helped to re-establish the corporate information technology steering committee, which resulted in significant savings to the corporation through leveraged buying power and national account agreements.
Prior to Harcourt General, Mr. Lawler was one of the initial members of a start-up organization that created a Payroll/HRIS outsourcing company using the Cyborg application.
Mr. Lawler’s career includes Human Resources experience from line generalist to corporate staff positions. This experience included recruiting, compensation, EEO reporting, data warehousing and benefits administration.
Mr. Lawler received a BS degree from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Clark University. From 1996 to 2002 he taught the Introduction to Human Resources Systems course in the School of Continuing and Professional Education at Bentley College.
